Our next stop in Hampton was at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where we were pleased to catch up with pantry coordinator and friend Jann Bowersox. In the community of Hampton the need for fresh, affordable, nutritious food is great and our crew made six total stops in the town.
"We have a lot of need here," said Jann. "There are a lot of larger families that come in and we feed nearly 200 people every month."
In addition to keeping a pantry stocked, Jann and two other volunteers from St. Patrick's go above and beyond to help struggling members of the community. "We understand that difficult times can fall on just about anyone. Someone may be between jobs or going through a rough patch and and really just need some temporary assistance," said Jann. "We do everything that we can to help those in need, in whatever ways they need it."
The St. Patrick's Catholic Church Food Pantry has been providing for its community the last 10 years. In addition to Jann, there are two regular volunteers and an additional 4-5 volunteers that help out on an as-needed basis.
"We receive donations from members of our church, but the pork loins help us so much," said Jann. "I'm not quite sure what we would do without them." #HaulOutHunger #BillionPlus
