Super Snacker Visits Creston Area Food Pantry

She’s baaaack! Last night, the Super Snacker made a visit to the Creston Area Food Pantry to distribute 500 PowerSnack pork sticks for area families in-need. Every week, local volunteers meet at the Food Pantry to assemble 130 food packs that are distributed during the school’s weekly meal program. According to volunteers, protein is hard to come by these days.

“We are very blessed by our community, but given COVID-19 and the impact it has had on farmers and lockers being tied up, we just aren’t getting meat donations like we used to,” said Mark O’Riley, coordinator and longtime volunteer. “Meat is a staple and any chance we have to get it to our families, they really appreciate it.”

PowerSnack pork sticks serve as an immediate, nutritious resource for kids and pack a powerful protein punch. The 500 pork sticks distributed last night will last several weeks and reach more than 100 households in the Creston, Iowa area.
