Tarah 1“We were so thankful to have found Tahra and appreciate the positive impact she has on our kid's lives,” said Zach Schumacher, a ventilation specialist for Iowa Select Farms who nominated his children’s day care for a Henry’s Heroes toy box. “The true understanding of the importance of day care is not always realized, but it directly affects our quality of life when we’re able to earn an income while our kids are in a safe and loving environment.”

Day care provider Tahra Scott-Helton received a Henry’s Heroes Little Farmer Toy Box from the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation and Iowa Select Farms. It was a small gesture to say thank you for the essential role her day care plays in keeping communities strong.

Tahra—whose day care is located in Webster City--says she is so thankful for the support of the children in her care.

"Having the educational tools to help my kids excel and learn through play is what my program is all about," said Tahra. "It was so wonderful to see the children's faces light up over the farm toys--it felt like Christmas morning."

Tahra says she can't wait to teach them more about agriculture and appreciates the toybox's financial relief.

"I was getting ready to order our fresh bunch of toys for the quarter, but now I can make the budget stretch a little further," said Tahra. "The quality of the items you brought should last us a very long time. Thank you for showing how much you all appreciate us child care providers."

“Day cares providers like Tahra are a critical part of Iowa Select Farm’s workforce,” said Ali Kraber, a representative of the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation. “Her day care helps provide flexibility and understanding to our employees who often work long hours. Agriculture is not a 9-5 job, and having people like Tahra makes all the difference for our employees.”
