As families across the nation close in on a long day of Thanksgiving feasts with family and friends, we stop to reflect and show gratitude for the caretakers who headed out to the farms today to do chores, walked the pens and made sure the pigs had fresh water, ample feed and warm, clean barns. Thanks to our “day ones” who dried off litters and went back a second and third time to check on the new moms even though their own families were waiting for them to get home.
Thanks to those who responded to alarm calls, provided emergency repairs, moved animals, ran out to construction sites, made calls, scheduled loads, analyzed data, cranked out health status reports and took care of hundreds of other responsibilities that simply needed done. Thanks to all farmers, everywhere. #billionpounds
