“I always wanted to serve as my father did,” said Austin Franzen, a finishing supervisor for Iowa Select Farms. “He served in the US Army, 6th BN 14th FA, and did four years in Nürnberg, Germany. I’ve always admired him for his service to our country.”

Austin enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard in May 2012, he enlisted into the Infantry and began basic training later that year. During his time, he enjoyed training in places such as Fort Polk, LA and Fort Wainwright, AK. He served six years with Charlie Company 1-133rdand obtained the rank of an E-6 Staff Sergeant. He later moved to Eldora and finished out his contract recruiting for the IANG before joining Iowa Select Farms.
