“Being in the military taught me many life lessons that I can apply to all aspects of home and work,” said Cody Shear, a retired Ranger in the United States Army.We have been honoring our employee and contractor veterans, like Cody, to thank them for their service and commitment to our country. Following in the footsteps of many family members before him, including both grandpas and two uncles, Cody felt called to serve in the military. Before even graduating from Hampton-Dumont High School, Cody enlisted in the United States Army. With his parent’s approval, he took his oath and shipped off to basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia. Realizing his potential, Cody continued his training and entered in Ranger Selection. Upon completion of the rigorous process to becoming a Ranger, he was a member of the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. He was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state for the duration of his four years in the Army. During that time, Cody completed four deployments to Afghanistan.Today, Cody works as a contractor in our finishing department and lives in Butler County with his wife and children. Thank you, Cody, for your service to our country!
